A teenage cricketer from Karachi named Adam Gilchrist has drawn widespread attention after scoring a match-winning century in a Pakistan school tournament. Playing for Kamran Public School against Happy Palace Grammar School, the young left-handed wicketkeeper-batter hit 117 runs off 108 balls to lead his team to a 172-run victory.
While his cricket-loving father gave him the surname Gilchrist after Australia's legendary wicketkeeper, the youngster considers Sri Lankan great Kumar Sangakkara his primary role model. The match was part of the Pakistan Cricket Board's nationwide Under-17 Talent Hunt School Cricket Championship.
