Liam Lawson reveals timeline for F1 future decision

Liam Lawson expects an announcement regarding his Formula 1 future within the next few races ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The New Zealander has returned to Racing Bulls following a three-race stint deputizing for the injured Isack Hadjar at Red Bull. With Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies confirming Hadjar alongside Max Verstappen for 2027, Lawson's future remains tied to Racing Bulls.

Lawson noted that he feels in a much better position than last season, when his seat was not confirmed until December. A season-best sixth-place finish in Spain helped lift him to ninth in the drivers' championship, having scored points in 10 of 14 races.
