Oscar Piastri admits he is "not sure what happened" as the McLaren driver was eliminated in Q2 ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix.

McLaren driver Oscar Piastri will start from 13th on the grid for the Mexico City Grand Prix following a surprising exit in Q2. Despite recording the fourth-fastest time in Q1 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Piastri aborted a late flying lap in Q2 and failed to find sufficient pace on his final effort.
Piastri described the performance drop as bizarre, noting a severe lack of rear grip and shifted balance on his new set of tires. In contrast, his McLaren teammate Lando Norris topped the Q2 session and will start from sixth place on Sunday.
