Charles Leclerc was on provisional pole for the Mexico City Grand Prix after the first runs, but he ended up losing out to Ferrari teammate…

Charles Leclerc expressed frustration over Ferrari team-mate Lewis Hamilton during qualifying at the Mexico City Grand Prix, asking via untelevised team radio what Hamilton was doing on his slow out-lap. Despite initially holding provisional pole, Leclerc failed to improve on his final Q3 attempt and missed out on pole position to Hamilton, who secured his first pole for Ferrari ahead of Mercedes driver George Russell.
Leclerc voiced annoyance to race engineer Bryan Bozzi over how the run plan was managed, demanding not to be released behind Hamilton for his second run. However, the Monegasque driver later took personal accountability for his final sector mistake, noting that despite tire warm-up challenges, he failed to deliver on a clean final lap.
