Singapore's Marina Bay Street Circuit will host the Sprint for the first time this weekend, adding an extra challenge for the teams and drivers.

Singapore's Marina Bay Street Circuit is hosting its first Formula 1 Sprint weekend in 2026, creating severe setup and preparation challenges for drivers. The format leaves teams with just one single practice session (FP1) on Friday before moving directly into Sprint Qualifying, forcing drivers to find their limits much faster on an unforgiving street circuit with quickly evolving grip levels.
Adding to the difficulty is the shifting schedule across daylight and nighttime conditions, with FP1 and the Sprint race taking place in sunshine while Sprint Qualifying runs at night. Drivers including Kimi Antonelli, Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Alex Albon, and rookie Arvid Lindblad highlighted the critical need to establish a strong baseline setup immediately in FP1.
