Golf news: Rory McIlroy makes major announcement but gets torn apart by rivals

Rory McIlroy announced a major partnership with DP World ahead of the DP World India Championship at Delhi Golf Club. Under the agreement, DP World will provide McIlroy with dedicated mobile fitness and recovery trailers at tournaments across both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. In addition to the deal, McIlroy faced lighthearted teasing from competitors Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, and Justin Rose over his choice of baggy trousers in Delhi.

Speaking in Delhi, McIlroy also addressed the state of men's professional golf following reports that Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund withdrew financial support from LIV Golf. Despite having previously criticized the circuit, McIlroy stated that former LIV players should be allowed to return to the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, arguing their presence would boost business and overall revenues.
