J.J. Spaun said he "definitely had something to prove this week" after being left off the U.S. Presidents Cup team. He proved it.

American golfer J.J. Spaun won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth after securing four birdies in his final holes. Spaun claimed the victory at the DP World Tour's flagship event following an 18th-hole collapse from his final challenger. The win marks Spaun's first-ever appearance and victory at the prestigious tournament in England.
Spaun admitted he played with a extra motivation after being left off the U.S. Presidents Cup team by captain Brandt Snedeker. With this victory, Spaun becomes only the third American to win the BMW PGA Championship, joining Arnold Palmer and Billy Horschel.
