Louis Oosthuizen, who had been a member of LIV Golf since its inception in 2022, says he is leaving the circuit and plans to return to the DP World Tour.

Former Open Championship winner Louis Oosthuizen announced on Wednesday that he is leaving the LIV Golf League to return to the DP World Tour in 2027. The 44-year-old, who captained Southern Guards GC since LIV's inception in 2022, explained that the European tour will offer him more control and flexibility over his schedule as he looks to remain competitive.
His departure follows LIV Golf's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in September after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund withdrew funding. A court permitted the league to reject several player contracts, prompting widespread exits as LIV attempts to restructure as LIV 2.0 with potential backing from private equity firm BC Partners.
