Pro Andrew Novak kept missing putts, and no one knew why. Then he made a clever switch, and he led at the Vidanta World Mexico Open.

PGA Tour professional Andrew Novak resolved an eight-month putting slump by switching to an old, rusted putter found in a closet. Novak shot a 10-under 61 in the second round of the Vidanta World Mexico Open to hold a three-stroke lead after 36 holes, leading the field in strokes gained: putting and tying the course record.
Novak previously ranked 155th on Tour in strokes gained: putting before switching clubs ahead of August's Wyndham Championship. Since making the change and simplifying his mindset, Novak has posted multiple strong finishes, including a tie for seventh at the Wyndham Championship.
