Rory McIlroy has responded to Kevin Kisner's comments questioning his motives for playing in the DP World India Championship.

Rory McIlroy has rejected Kevin Kisner's criticism alleging his sole motivation for competing in the DP World India Championship was an appearance fee. Speaking after finishing his final round in New Delhi on four under, McIlroy defended his participation by stating that golfers can receive appearance money while also possessing a genuine interest in expanding the sport across major emerging markets.
Kisner had claimed on the Fore Play Podcast that players were merely reciting prepared lines to justify lucrative fees. The tournament at Delhi Golf Club concluded with Eugenio Chacarra taking victory on 21 under, 17 shots ahead of McIlroy, who is scheduled to return to competition next month in Abu Dhabi.
