PGA Tour pro Tom Kim needs to win gold at the 2026 Asian Games to avoid mandatory military service. With 18 holes to go, he's in the lead.

Tom Kim shot a third-round 65 at Kasugai Country Club in Japan to take the solo lead at 12 under par heading into the final round of the 2026 Asian Games. Winning a gold medal individually or with South Korea would grant Kim an exemption from South Korea's mandatory 18 to 21 months of military service.
Kim left the Presidents Cup early to compete in the tournament. South Korea also leads the team competition by one stroke, offering teammate S.H. Kim another route to an exemption, while their third teammate Mun Do-yeob has already completed his service.
