Tom Kim powered to the top of the leaderboard at the Asian Games as he looks to not only win gold but also get an exemption from South Korean military service

Tom Kim shot a third-round 65 to take a one-stroke lead at 12 under par heading into the final round of the Asian Games in Japan. The 24-year-old leads Wang Wei-hsuan and Kazuki Higa, putting him within 18 holes of winning a gold medal at Kasugai Country Club.
A victory would grant Kim an exemption from mandatory 18 to 21 months of South Korean military service, which requires winning Asian Games gold or any Olympic medal. Kim also holds a one-stroke lead in the team competition alongside SH Kim and Mun Do-yeob.
