Beauty Reigns Much the Best In Listed $175K Pumpkin Pie

Beauty Reigns captured her first career stakes victory with a two-length win in the $175,000 Pumpkin Pie at Belmont Park on Saturday. Trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott and ridden by Junior Alvarado, the filly stalked early leaders before powering clear down the stretch to complete the seven-furlong sprint in 1:22.56.

Icona Mama finished second by a neck over 1-5 favorite Senza Parole, who compromised her chances with a slow start out of the gate. Beauty Reigns earned $96,250 for Tranquility Lake Farms, and Mott stated he may next consider her for the $175,000 Garland of Roses on December 6.
