MLB announced its award finalists for the 2026 season on Monday, with two Atlanta Braves figures earning nominations. Pitcher Chris Sale was named a finalist for the NL Cy Young Award, while Walt Weiss was selected as a finalist for Manager of the Year. Shawn Coleman notes that both contributed significantly to the Braves' performance throughout the 2026 campaign.
In roster moves, the Braves claimed left-handed pitcher Mitchell Parker off waivers from the Washington Nationals. Additionally, former owner Ted Turner was named a finalist on the Contemporary Baseball Era ballot for 2027.
