Fresh off of the heels of two Atlanta Braves players receiving Gold Glove Awards (Matt Olson at First Base and Mauricio Dubón as a utility man), it looks like there’s a chance that they’ll have some company when it comes…
Atlanta Braves pitcher Chris Sale and manager Walt Weiss have been selected as finalists for the 2026 BBWAA Awards. Sale is nominated for the NL Cy Young Award after posting a 2.16 ERA and 5.8 fWAR over 27 starts. Weiss is a finalist for NL Manager of the Year after guiding Atlanta to 94 wins and an NL East title.
The BBWAA will announce the Manager of the Year on November 10, followed by the Cy Young Award on November 11. Sale contends against Jacob Misiorowski and Cristopher Sánchez, while Weiss is nominated alongside Don Mattingly and Pat Murphy. The writer, Demetrius Bell, notes that while Misiorowski appears favored for Cy Young, Weiss has proved himself following Brian Snitker's tenure.
