Current ownership is not interested in selling the team, he said, even in light of the recent record-setting purchase prices of MLB teams.

Cincinnati Reds President and CEO Phil Castellini stated that the team's ultimate goal remains bringing "championship baseball" to the city. Speaking publicly on Thursday alongside president of baseball operations Nick Krall and general manager Brad Meador following a 75-87 season, Castellini acknowledged that the results were unacceptable to fans. He confirmed that ownership has no plans to sell the franchise and reiterated that Krall and Meador will have final authority on future baseball operations.
Castellini confirmed that the organization plans to audit its player development system and will immediately begin searching for a new pitching coach after Derek Johnson's departure. The club also examined modernizing Great American Ball Park before its lease expires in 2037, though field dimensions will remain unchanged. Castellini noted that future roster decisions, including addressing star shortstop Elly De La Cruz, will fit into the franchise's broader strategic development plan.
