The Cleveland Guardians have their backs against the wall. They lost the first two games of the American League Division Series against the Chicago White Sox, and another loss on Wednesday would mean their season is over. Just like that…
Analyst Ken Carman defended Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez amid criticism during the 2026 American League Division Series. Facing elimination after falling behind 2-0 against the Chicago White Sox, Cleveland's offense generated only three runs and seven hits across two games, leaving Ramirez under scrutiny after starting 0-for-6 in the postseason.
Carman argued that Ramirez should not bear primary accountability for the team's struggles because Cleveland would not have reached the postseason without him. Ramirez has also dealt with hand issues following hamate bone surgery, batting .225 with a .666 OPS across his career postseason appearances.
