CLEVELAND -- The Guardians won the American League Central by one game over the White Sox, despite losing the season series, 7-6. That division win earned Cleveland home-field advantage when the two teams met up in the Division Series.

The Chicago White Sox head into ALDS Game 3 against the Cleveland Guardians at Rate Field holding a 2-0 series lead. Chicago claimed the first two games on the road at Progressive Field, putting Cleveland on the brink of postseason elimination. A win for the White Sox would secure their first trip to the American League Championship Series since 2005.
Neither team had officially named a starting pitcher for Wednesday's matchup as of Monday night. The Guardians are seeking an offensive spark after scoring only three runs through two games, while White Sox closer Grant Taylor remains positioned to anchor Chicago's bullpen after earning saves in both previous contests.
