While former Guardians outfielder Shelley Duncan didn't have a significant big league career, he's carved out a good path as a coach.

The Boston Red Sox have hired former Cleveland outfielder Shelley Duncan to join manager Chad Tracy's major league coaching staff. The appointment follows Boston signing Tracy to a three-year contract after removing his interim manager tag earlier this offseason. Duncan spent the previous three seasons coaching in the New York Yankees' Triple-A affiliate system.
Duncan played for the Yankees, Guardians, and Tampa Bay Rays during his major league career, hitting 33 of his 43 career home runs with Cleveland. His addition comes shortly after Boston added former Astros coach Jason Bell to their staff, with specific coaching roles for both hires yet to be officially determined.
