Outside of the recent pair of Dodgers World Series, it was still the most-watched Game 1 since 2019.
Television viewership for Game 1 of the 2026 World Series between the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays experienced a slight decline compared to the previous two seasons. Despite the dip, the broadcast still outperformed several other Fall Classic openers from this decade.
According to a Sports Business Journal report by Austin Karp, the matchup between the two smaller-market clubs performed respectably against prior Los Angeles Dodgers-driven audiences. Additionally, the opening contest generated the highest local television ratings in Milwaukee for a World Series Game 1 in seven years.
