Houston Astros prospect Nick Monistere is playing in the Arizona Fall League to make up for lost time after injury interrupted his first full professional season. The 22-year-old infielder was limited to 54 games and 186 at-bats this summer following surgery for a sports hernia. He is currently playing for the Scottsdale Scorpions alongside fellow Houston prospects.
Monistere previously stole 15 bases in 25 games at Single-A Fayetteville before struggling at High-A Asheville post-rehab. He views his future as an athletic multi-position utility player and plans to focus heavily on recovery and physical conditioning during the upcoming offseason.
