Saturday's game started 45 minutes after the National Weather Service issued an extreme heat warning as the temperature reached 100 degrees at first pitch at Dodger Stadium.

Dodgers fans, players, and umpires endured extreme heat reaching 103 degrees at Dodger Stadium on Saturday during Game 1 of the National League Division Series. An early afternoon start time scheduled by MLB and its broadcast partners exposed attendees to a dangerous heat wave as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves 5-3.
The sweltering conditions prompted stadium staff to distribute bottled water and set up cooling stations, while some spectators and attendants required medical assistance. On the field, the thin, hot air contributed to five combined home runs accounting for all eight runs scored, while starting pitcher Tarik Skubal earned the win by allowing just one run across six innings.
