Veteran right-hander Brandon Woodruff is still rehabbing from a midseason shoulder injury, and he could only return to the Milwaukee Brewers' pitching staff if the team advances to the World Series.

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff announced that the earliest possible timeline for his return from a shoulder injury would be the World Series. The 33-year-old right-hander has been sidelined since July 5 after deciding to forego surgery on his shoulder capsule in favor of rehabilitation with Dr. Keith Meister.
Woodruff expressed willingness to accept the risks to his future playing career for a chance to pitch in the World Series. Having missed Milwaukee's prior three postseason runs, his potential return serves as major motivation for the club as they open their 2026 playoff campaign.
