MILWAUKEE -- Jacob Misiorowski’s first inning began with the fastest fastball on record in the postseason. His second inning was a long slog.

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski set a postseason pitch-tracking record with a 104.8 mph fastball on his first pitch against Fernando Tatis Jr. in NLDS Game 1 on Saturday. Misiorowski pitched four innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out six, as Milwaukee secured a 3-2 victory over the San Diego Padres at American Family Field.
The Padres forced Misiorowski to throw 88 pitches over four innings, aided by fouling off 30 pitches during his outing. Misiorowski navigated through a difficult two-run second inning before stabilizing, aided by Jackson Chourio's game-tying home run in the third, before Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy turned to the bullpen in the fifth.
