It won’t be Rays ace Drew Rasmussen taking the mound in Game 1 of the World Series.

Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash announced that Nick Martinez will start Game 1 of the World Series against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday. The decision gives ace Drew Rasmussen an extra day of rest before an expected Game 2 start, following Rasmussen's heavy postseason workload.
Martinez, who signed a one-year, $13 million deal in the offseason, posted a 3.10 ERA over 180 regular-season innings. He will face Brewers starter Jacob Misiorowski, who posted a major-league-best 1.80 ERA with 252 strikeouts this season.
