MILWAUKEE -- Long before Chandler Simpson was realizing his dream of swiping big league bases, he’d already learned how to steal a show.

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Chandler Simpson is drawing attention ahead of the World Series as a resurfaced middle school talent show dance video highlights the footwork behind his unique playing style. Simpson, who led the American League with 46 stolen bases, attributes part of his athletic rhythm and movement to his early dance background as the Rays prepare to face the Milwaukee Brewers.
During the regular season, Simpson hit .306 and led the Majors with 42 infield hits without hitting a home run. Rays manager Kevin Cash praised his throwback small-ball approach, while teammate Cedric Mullins lauded his bunting and discipline. Simpson also significantly upgraded his outfield defense this season, transforming into a Gold Glove finalist.
