With the offseason underway, we are taking a look at every player who appeared for the Texas Rangers in the 2026 season. Today we are looking at outfielder Sam Haggerty. That didn’t work out as we had hoped, did it?…
In a season review for Lone Star Ball, Adam Morris evaluates Texas Rangers outfielder Sam Haggerty's disappointing 2026 campaign following his earlier success in 2025. Morris writes that Haggerty failed to provide value as a platoon bat, slashing .159/.213/.182 with a .395 OPS across 47 plate appearances in 35 games.
Haggerty signed a $1.25 million deal ahead of the non-tender deadline before struggling significantly at the plate. The Rangers placed Haggerty on bereavement leave on June 1, 2026, and designated him for assignment shortly after his return.
