Important dates for Nationals fans to know in the 2026-27 MLB offseason

District on Deck outlines key dates for Washington Nationals supporters during the 2026-27 MLB offseason, highlighted by free agency, awards, and the looming Collective Bargaining Agreement expiration. The offseason calendar begins immediately after the World Series, initiating exclusive negotiation periods before unrestricted free agency opens five days later. Notable dates also include the GM Meetings starting November 9 and the non-tender contract deadline on November 20.

The article highlights that Nationals outfielder Daylen Lile is a Gold Glove finalist, while CJ Abrams and James Wood are potential Silver Slugger contenders. Writer Andrew Potts cautions that the expiration of the MLB CBA on December 1, 2026, threatens a widespread owner lockout, which could disrupt the traditional winter meetings, arbitration proceedings, and the start of the 2027 season due to disputes over a salary cap.
