Center fielder Jacob Young has agreed to a four-year, $23 million contract extension with the Washington Nationals, according to a source. The deal includes an $8 million club option for a fifth season. The agreement covers Young's three arbitration years and one free-agent season, keeping him in Washington through at least 2030.
The 27-year-old outfielder enjoyed a productive 2026 campaign, hitting 10 home runs with 50 RBIs and 18 stolen bases across 140 games. Known for his elite defense, Young marks the second extension under president of baseball operations Paul Toboni, following pitcher Cade Cavalli's extension in September.
