Nats’ Triple-A affiliate earns first league title since 1997 behind these prospects

The Rochester Red Wings clinched their first International League championship since 1997 with a 3-2 victory over Memphis at AutoZone Park on Thursday night. The Washington Nationals' Triple-A affiliate used eight pitchers to secure the decisive one-run win and punch their ticket to Las Vegas Ballpark for Saturday's Triple-A National Championship Game.

Riley Adams opened the scoring with a first-inning RBI single before Memphis took a 2-1 lead in the seventh inning. Rochester answered in the eighth with an RBI double from Andrew Pinckney and a go-ahead single from Cortland Lawson, securing the title for manager Matthew LeCroy's 90-win squad.
