Rochester Wins International League Championship

The Rochester Red Wings secured the International League Championship with a 3-2 victory over the Memphis Redbirds. After trailing 2-1, Rochester rallied in the eighth inning courtesy of back-to-back two-out doubles from Leandro Pineda and Andrew Pinckney, followed by a go-ahead single from Cortland Lawson. Clayton Beeter earned the win in relief, while Eddie Yean pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save.

The victory marks Rochester's first league title since 1997 and the first Triple-A championship for the Washington Nationals organization since relocating from Montreal in 2005. The Red Wings advance to play the Oklahoma City Comets in the Triple-A National Championship game in Las Vegas.
