UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje has stated that he believes Ilia Topuria is undersized to compete in the 155-pound division. Speaking on the Flagrant Podcast, Gaethje recommended that Topuria return to the featherweight division, where he believes Topuria could defeat Alexander Volkanovski and hold the title again.
Gaethje, who previously defeated Topuria at UFC Freedom 250 after Topuria knocked out Charles Oliveira, expressed doubt that Topuria could become a champion at lightweight. He also claimed Topuria would struggle against other lightweight competitors such as Arman Tsarukyan and Paddy Pimblett.
