Mixed martial artists have endured some gnarly injuries throughout the years, but it’s rare that a fighter is left reeling in pain from something a referee does. Unfortunately for one unlucky fighter, that’s exactly what happened during Friday’s Top FC…

A referee caused an unexpected injury by sliding into fighter Kim Ji Yeong during a stoppage at Top FC 24 in Seoul, South Korea. The incident occurred during an undercard lightweight bout against Kim Jun Woo.
Yeong secured a second-round knockout finish with a left hand to the body. As the referee stepped in to halt the bout, Yeong's leg was caught underneath him, leading to what appeared to be a severe knee injury.
