The Charlotte Hornets have waived veteran guard Pat Connaughton ahead of the upcoming NBA season. Connaughton, whose $3.8 million salary for the season was non-guaranteed, was released to help the team meet the 15-player regular season roster limit.
The 33-year-old won an NBA championship with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021 before joining Charlotte last summer. Connaughton appeared in 42 games off the bench for the Hornets last season, averaging 2.6 points per game before being placed on waivers.
