Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller was sidelined for a preseason exhibition against the Brooklyn Nets due to a shin contusion suffered during practice. The injury, described as day-to-day, is not expected to prevent him from playing in Charlotte's regular-season opener on October 21. Meanwhile, the Hornets and Miller's representatives are actively negotiating a rookie-scale contract extension ahead of the October 19 deadline.
Talks are reportedly progressing toward a five-year extension projected to exceed $200 million. Despite early-career injury concerns, including ankle issues and offseason shoulder surgery, Miller has emerged as Charlotte's focal point under head coach Charles Lee following significant offseason roster changes.
