DALLAS — John Poulakidas made 4 of his 8 attempts from 3-point range Wednesday night, and the shots were not what Dallas Mavericks coach Dusty May wanted to talk about first.
Dallas Mavericks head coach Dusty May commended John Poulakidas for his physical effort, rebounding, and grit beyond his outside shooting following a 101-97 preseason defeat against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday. Poulakidas finished with 16 points, hitting 4 of 8 attempts from 3-point range, while pulling down four rebounds in over 25 minutes off the bench.
Playing without rested stars Kyrie Irving and Cooper Flagg, Dallas relied on its young roster shortly after returning from Macao. Poulakidas shared the team lead in scoring with rookie Tobi Lawal, who also scored 16 points. The Mavericks will finish their preseason schedule against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.
