Joel Embiid said a recent report about LeBron James getting on him about being late to practice "never happened" and caused him to wonder why he was targeted.

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid denied a recent report claiming LeBron James criticized him for arriving late to practice, calling the story untrue. Embiid addressed the rumors following his preseason debut in Philadelphia's 114-108 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night, urging his team to tune out outside noise and focus on their goals.
The rumor originated when broadcaster Mike Breen shared the claim during an MSG Networks telecast, though Breen later apologized after James publicly labeled the report as lies on social media. In his preseason debut, Embiid recorded eight points and eight turnovers across 24 minutes.
