The Celtics outscored the Cavaliers by 22 points during Carter's 24 minutes on the court. Following a tumultuous stretch where he was traded and subsequently waived, Carter signed an Exhibit-10 training camp contract with Boston to fight for an open roster spot.

Carter is competing for Boston's remaining open two-way contract alongside teammates Dillon Mitchell and Amari Williams. Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla, assistant DJ MacLeay, and center Luka Garza praised Carter's competitiveness, defense, and aggressive downhill play.
