JJ Redick sent a clear message to Bronny James after his G League assignment and revealed when the young guard will rejoin the Lakers.

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick explained that assigning Bronny James and rookie Cameron Carr to the G League was simply to get them necessary playing reps. Both players were assigned to the Coachella Valley Lakers for their season opener against the Salt Lake City Stars, with Redick confirming they will immediately rejoin the NBA roster afterward.
Redick framed the decision around development rather than punishment following limited playing time for both guards during the Lakers' 7-2 start to the season. James and Carr are scheduled to rejoin the team for an upcoming three-game road trip starting in Detroit.
