The Knicks on Tuesday hung a banner at Madison Square Garden to celebrate the NBA Cup title they won last season.

The New York Knicks reversed course and hung a banner celebrating their NBA Cup victory at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday. The team initially opted against raising a banner following their in-season tournament win last December, citing a focus on larger goals. The banner went up ahead of their regular-season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The ceremony preceded the raising of their official NBA championship banner, following their Finals triumph over the San Antonio Spurs. Knicks coach Mike Brown described the gesture as recognition of the team's journey and dedication to the fans. It marks the first banner hung by the franchise since their 2012-13 Atlantic Division title.
