The New York Knicks have retained key contributors Landry Shamet, Jose Alvarado, and Jordan Clarkson in free agency as they look to defend their NBA title. According to a report by Peter Sblendorio of The New York Daily News, the franchise has managed to keep 10 of the 11 players who led the team in average minutes per game during their championship run.
All three veteran backcourt players reportedly turned down opportunities for larger contracts and more prominent playing roles with other teams to stay in New York. Shamet highlighted the roster's collective focus on winning over individual minutes as a primary reason for his return.
