Falcons posted a profile pic featuring their throwback logo. The reaction probably wasn’t what they expected

The Atlanta Falcons briefly updated their social media profile picture with a graphic inspired by their throwback helmet ahead of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. However, many online users noted an unfortunate resemblance between the design and Nazi-era imagery, sparking widespread memes and jokes across social platforms.

The graphic displayed a black falcon against a red background with central stripes, modeled after the team's original 1966 to 1969 helmets. Following the reaction, the Falcons quickly replaced the profile picture with an alternative side view of the throwback helmet, though the initial announcement post had already amassed 43 million views on X by Friday morning.
