Former Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard teased on social media that he may come out of retirement to play in the Chinese Basketball Association. Howard reacted to news of former NBA players D'Angelo Russell and JaVale McGee signing with the Shanghai Sharks, suggesting on X that he might join them in China.

The 40-year-old eight-time All-Star announced his retirement in March before returning to play in Georgia in September. Howard, who won an NBA championship with the Lakers in 2020, previously played overseas in Taiwan following an 18-season NBA career that concluded after the 2021-22 campaign.
