LJUBLJANA — Luka Dončić told Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated that he should not have played in the second half of the Los Angeles Lakers–Oklahoma City Thunder game on April 2.
Luka Dončić admitted he regrets playing through an injury during an April 2 game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Down 31 points at halftime, Dončić continued playing into the third quarter before suffering a Grade 2 left hamstring strain that sidelined him for the remainder of the regular season and the entire 2026 playoffs.
Without Dončić, the Los Angeles Lakers were swept by Oklahoma City in the second round after defeating the Houston Rockets. The Lakers have since overhauled their roster around Dončić following LeBron James' departure to the Philadelphia 76ers.
