Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic admitted he blames himself rather than head coach JJ Redick for the hamstring injury that limited him during the NBA Playoffs. Doncic initially tweaked his hamstring in the first half of an April 2 regular-season loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder before suffering a more severe strain early in the second half.
Doncic acknowledged being stubborn about wanting to win and stated he regrets not coming out of the game earlier. He noted that he should have rested during the regular season to remain healthy for the postseason, adding that he worked on durability throughout the offseason.
