Vin Baker opens up on bond with Giannis: ‘He’s like a son to me’

Assistant coach Vin Baker has joined Erik Spoelstra's staff with the Miami Heat, continuing his long-standing personal and professional relationship with star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. Speaking to South Florida reporters on Thursday, Baker described Antetokounmpo as being like a son to him, noting that he even officiated the player's 2024 wedding in Greece.

Baker previously served on the Milwaukee Bucks' coaching staff starting in 2018 before departing when Taylor Jenkins took over as head coach. Alongside conversations with Spoelstra and Pat Riley, Baker's expertise in post play and navigating double-teams will be utilized to help integrate Antetokounmpo alongside Bam Adebayo in Miami.
