It wasn't pretty, but Yves Missi's case to remain the Pelicans' starting center ahead of opening night is still the strongest of the bunch.

Writer Chris Lambert argues that Yves Missi has likely secured the starting center role for the New Orleans Pelicans' regular-season opener against the Indiana Pacers. The Pelicans concluded their preseason schedule with a 107-106 victory over the Washington Wizards, where Missi posted six points and seven rebounds on 3-of-5 shooting in 19 minutes.
Lambert notes that head coach Jamahl Mosley started Missi in all four preseason contests despite competition from Karlo Matkovic and Derik Queen. While acknowledging Missi's early preseason struggles and fit questions alongside Zion Williamson, the writer believes Missi's rebounding, rim protection, and established chemistry make him the frontrunner to start.
