Saddiq Bey had fans worried after a slow start to the preseason, but led the team in scoring in the Pelicans finale and eased all those concerns.

Chris Lambert writes that Saddiq Bey delivered a crucial bounce-back performance in the New Orleans Pelicans' preseason finale against the Washington Wizards. Bey had struggled early in the preseason after signing a three-year contract extension, entering Friday's game averaging just seven points while shooting 30 percent from the field.
In the final preseason contest, Bey recorded 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals on 7-of-11 shooting. Lambert argues that adjusting to a bench role likely caused Bey's early slump, but his strong showing suggests he is ready for opening night against the Indiana Pacers.
