Orlando Magic’s biggest training camp battle is far from over

Orlando Magic Daily reports that the battle for the backup center position behind Wendell Carter remains undecided during training camp. Nikola Vucevic and Goga Bitadze are competing for the role, with both offering contrasting skill sets. Vucevic scored nine points on three-of-three shooting from deep in the preseason opener against Memphis, but faced defensive limitations, while Bitadze earned the initial backup minutes and produced seven points.

The writer argues that the decision will likely extend throughout the preseason and into regular season rotation adjustments. Bitadze provides strong interior defense and rim protection, whereas Vucevic offers valuable floor-spacing and pick-and-pop offense. Starting center Wendell Carter praised both teammates, noting Vucevic's veteran shooting ability and Bitadze's relentless effort on the court.
