The Orlando Magic were brilliant in their preseason opener. But their second game showed this group is still coming together and learning how to make this work.

The Orlando Magic lost 119-105 to the Cleveland Cavaliers in their second preseason game, demonstrating the learning curve under new coach Sean Sweeney. Orlando entered Sunday's contest missing key guards Jalen Suggs, Anthony Black, and Desmond Bane, while Jonathan Isaac also remained away. Cleveland capitalized behind strong performances from James Harden, who scored 24 points, and Donovan Mitchell, who added 11 points.
Orlando Magic Daily's Philip Rossman-Reich argues that while the Magic struggled with spacing and committed 19 turnovers, the preseason setback is an expected part of adjusting to a new coaching system. Tristan da Silva led the Magic with 17 points, and Franz Wagner added 10 points in limited first-half minutes.
